
Silvio Lanzas
Silvio Lanzas spent 25 years with CAL FIRE, rising through the ranks from Fire Explorer to Operations Assistant Chief. In that capacity, he served as the de facto Fire Chief for the Cities of Norco, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, and the Rubidoux Community Services District. For 15 years, Lanzas served on CAL FIRE’s Incident Management Teams where he played a critical role in managing some of California’s most devastating wildfires. In 2017, Silvio joined the Glendale Fire Department as Deputy Fire Chief. He was appointed Fire Chief in 2018.
In 2022, Silvio retired from public service and transitioned into the private sector, accepting a leadership role as Chief Operating Officer of MFIRE. MFIRE is a global fire inhibitor company dedicated to preventing fires in high-risk environments, including wildland-urban interfaces, multi-family wood-frame construction, and lithium-ion energy storage systems.
